How to build a Spiritual Brand

A spiritual brand is a brand that is felt. A brand that has soul. People in the spiritual space; mediums, herbalists, coaches, studio owners, therapists, etc, will need their branding to be built spiritually, but a spiritual brand is something that ANYONE with a business can benefit from.

This doesn’t mean that your brand has to be gold or bohemian or mystical looking, it simply means that your brand is built from intention, intuition.

We are living in a digital world where people are needing connection more than ever. And when your brand and visual identity is built spiritually, it allows people to connect to it, feeling your energy before even seeing you.

So let’s break down how to actually build a spiritual brand.

Step 1: Unearth your core Brand Essence

Whether you have a personal brand and tap into your own core essence, or your businesses’ core essence, this is essential.

Most people try to brand by which industry they are in, or how they think they should look. But branding the essence is what makes your business feel like you. Maybe you have an apothecary and you think you should be green and earthy, but actually, the soul essence of your brand is luxurious and sensual. So in that case, it may make more sense to have a brand with warmth, golds, and feminine energy.

Your essence is also the constant, the anchor. So if you are someone with many modalities, your essence is what connects all your offerings.

And when you brand based on your essence, you have a brand that grows WITH you. So you can evolve and play and shift as you are meant to, with your brand always as the anchor.

And your brand essence is the heart and soul of your business.

In my brand package, I channel someone’s core brand essence. We also tap into it together through conversation, guided meditation, and the connection we build together on the brand journey.

Step 2: Get clear on your strategy

In my brand identity package, on the kick-off call where we unearth your brand’s core essence, we also get clear on everything in a strategy sense. You should start asking yourself questions like:

What is the journey that got you to creating this brand in the first place? How do all the pieces of your journey connect?

On a deeper sense, what are you here to do? For example, I’m here to help people embody their essence. Brand design is simply just the medium in which I do this. Maybe you are here to empower, to help bring calm, to help people find their purpose, to help get people out of survival and into a place where they are truly thriving, to inspire, etc…

Who is your audience? Demographics are great, sure, but more than that, where are your people in life when they find you? What values do they all share in common? What is their blocks in life and how do you help them? And what transformation are they looking to bring that you can help with?

We go beyond deep on this in my kick-off calls (the first call we have once your brand journey officially starts, before any designing happens). With many questions covering all parts of the strategy, in an intuitive way where we see beyond the big picture so that we can make sure your business and brand identity are working in perfect alignment. It’s so important to get clarity around these things before jumping into creation mode.

Step 3: Tap into your the visuals of your brand

Are there any symbols that are important to you? What colors are you drawn to? Which kind of typography? If you had a photoshoot, where would it be?

As you start to tap into the visuals of your brand, be intentional. Make sure they connect back to your ESSENCE. To the strategy. Make sure you start choosing things that convey the feelings and transformation you want your people to feel when they first find you.

Step 4: BUILD your brand

Now that you’ve the work on getting clear on your essence and strategy, and tapping into your brand visuals, it’s time to actually build it.
